In order: Freckletone, Saint Germain, Creme Cup.

Decided to add some pastels into my lipstick repertoire so i bought these three. And they arrived today! yays. a little moist from shipping (they came all the way from a friend who went to HK for vacay) but still awzm:

(1) Freckletone. has lustre formulation meaning it’s very sheer. This is a favorite amongst the tan population (think J.Lo, Beyonce) and also a great sheer nude to pair with dramatic eyes :)

(2) Saint Germain. has amplified creme formulation. Having immense white pigment naturally means that the product would be chalky and streaky but this is incredibly buttery and glides on smoothly! Looks purple under flash though.

Side by side with Pink Nouveau (darker pink)

and last but not the least…

(3) Creme Cup. has cremesheen formulation, another sheer baby! This is my new fave! :3

Swatches!

Freckletone, Saint Germain, Creme Cup

Now that i’ve completed my Lipstick Dream Team, i guess it’s time to move on. (to what?)

So me being me, I got myself a new eyeshadow palette because (1) i want to do my own grad makeup and (2) it was on sale, P700 (from P900) with free shipping from Cebu!! (from fabcloset). It was their last piece, so if you ever want to get the same palette, try your luck with Coastal Scent’s Metal Mania Palette ($24.95), or Dollface Cosmetic’s Dollface Palette (P1200). These  three are identical, it was just that mine’s generic, reasonably priced, and on sale. :)
I’d been not-literally drooling over shimmer palettes and this one is so darling! I don’t get to use my 88 Matte Palette often because i stick with my neutrals as much as possible. The screaming vibrant blues, greens, pinks, purples and whatnot of my matte palette are virtually untouched :/

The formulation is shimmer — something i used to avoid before because as you can see above, it reflects light thus washes out under flash. Shimmer eyeshadows are also more prone to breaking and fallouts, so take care when carrying this around with you. BUT I DON’T CARE THIS IS SUCH A DARLING TREAT FOR THE EYES! And oh, one good thing about shimmers is that they’re easier to blend and last longer too.
What’s nice about this palette is that the shimmers aren’t necessarily the same color as the shadow; my favorite pot is the 3rd one down from the leftmost. It’s cream, yet the shimmer is pearlized pink!

These closeups are fail; I can’t stress how awesome they are in person! Shimmery, sheeny, subtle bits of sassiness! I’m totally obsessed ;D

The palette has a generous mix of sultry neutrals and flirty pastels. Colors include creams, browns (bronzes, coppers), oranges (from burnt to light), dull pinks (roses, salmons, berries), violets (mauves, lilacs, lavenders and purples) warm greys, warm thistle blues, deep olives and one forest green. The scarcity in cool colors make this one a winner for warm-toned ladies like me! Also, the lack of screaming, vibrant hues and it being rich in dull colors make it very useable by fair-skinned lasses (again, like me. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang haha.) Note though that this palette DOES NOT have black; I have a separate black eyeshadow for use with my gel liner.

And any pot goes along with every pot! Everything is a color combination :)

Trying to get as close as possible to capture the shimmer and how purty it is in person but these photos do it no justice. :) <333

+10 macro filter and still so much fail

Everything is encased in a black, matte, sturdy plastic and no unreliable push-release buttons, unlike the old palettes which were shiny and came with the stinky button that’s prone to coming loose. On the inner side of the lid is a big mirror and two foam applicators which are pretty useless.
So yes! Out of the wide range of 88/72/96/120 palettes available, this is probably the most useable (2nd would be the 88 Warm Palette), i’m getting rid (ehem, selling) of my original 88 palette soon!

MAC Lipstick wishlist:

I’m biased towards peachy/red/purple lippies since i’ve warm undertones. The only pinks i get are the ones that are very in yo face since those are the only ones that are wearable enough!

  1. MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Saint Germain, $14.50 - because hey, everyone loves  punch yo face pale pink lip! Goes well after a day at the beach, or at a partay!
  2. MAC Lustre Lipstick in Freckletone, $14.50 - because Beyonce and J.Lo says so! i need a sheer peachy nude lip color wearable enough for everyday use!
  3. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup, $14.50 - because it’s like MAC Angel as popularized by the better known Kardashian sister, but less pink and creamier!! another everybody’s staple! wearable everyday!

i’m not a fan of nude, pale lipsticks — i like my lipcolors punching people in the face because that’s what i usually do, you know, punch people in the face.

i try to stick with the Hollywood staples — i got (1) Russian Red, a punch yo face red as popularized by Madonna, (2) Up the Amp, a punch yo face purple which i like very much on Rihanna, (3) Viva Glam Gaga 2, which i only bought for the lip erasing functionality, and the baby of Mama Gaga, and recently (4) Pink Nouveau, the ultimate punch yo face pink that’s wearable! From Nicki Minaj to also Mama Gaga and lots of local artists, this one is a must have!

It’s a Satin lipstick (my other lippies are Amplified) but i see no difference, it’s very pigmented and stays on, even after eating, without touchups! (that’s more than 6 hours of punch yo faciness, brah!)

Kinda pricey here in the philippines @ 1000php ea. hmm what to pabili in the US next???

So while letting time pass before going to shaw-wackwack-shang, i scoured TriNo for makeup brushes.

Saw a really cute baby pink set at Suesh for P850 only but the handles were wayyyyyyyyy to looooooooooooong (think korean cooking chopsticks long) so i let that pass. Luckily Landmark is a place for anything and everything cheap!

There was an entire rack full of makeup brush kit/holders (without the brushes) in every size and color! (from 89-115 pesos each). The only one that came with brushes was in black and had 5 brushes inside (powder, flat liner, concealer, shadow, and another one im not sure of, only P199), then got a separate angled brush for only P89 :) It’s so cheap and compact im gonna die.

Separate smaller brushes were at P39 - P69. :D Bigger brushes were at P89 - P415. :D
